Calendar both ways, ingredients per cooking step — and updates without waiting for the store

Your Google calendar now syncs both ways, recipes show ingredients where you actually need them, the menu is tidied up — and future improvements reach you without a detour through the app store.

Version 1.1

Google calendar now syncs both ways

Until now Mokkeli could only read your Google calendar. Events you create or change in Mokkeli now flow back into Google — so you no longer have to think about where to add an appointment.

Recurring events with an end date

Recurring events no longer run forever: you can set when a series ends — swimming lessons until the holidays, training until the end of the season.

Ingredients where you need them

Recipes now show ingredients right at the cooking step they belong to. No more scrolling back to the ingredient list while the pan heats up.

A tidier menu with reliable back navigation

The "More" menu is now grouped into areas, settings and help instead of one long list. And going back now takes you where you came from — especially in the meals area, which you can close with the usual swipe gesture.

The app remembers where you were

When you reopen the app you land back in the view you used last — instead of starting over every time.

Improvements without waiting for the store

From this version on, Mokkeli can update itself. Fixes and small improvements reach you in hours instead of days — no store update needed.

"What's new" right inside the app

This page is now available inside the app as well — so you can see what changed without leaving it.

Analytics can be switched off

In the privacy settings you can now opt out of anonymous usage analytics yourself — one switch, no email required.

Also fixed & improved

  • Some shopping list items ended up without a category — fixed, and existing items were sorted retroactively.
  • Android: the keyboard covered the shopping list input field — fixed.
  • In the meal plan menu, "Notify everyone" and "Delete" opened no confirmation dialog and therefore did nothing — fixed.
  • A black, unresponsive screen appeared after "add ingredients to shopping list" — fixed.
  • Importing a Google calendar reported an error on the first attempt even though it had worked — fixed.
  • A connected Google account without imported calendars simply showed no events — there is now a hint and a direct path to import.
  • After reconnecting a Google calendar, events failed to appear — fixed.
  • Going back from the calendar detail view didn't work — fixed.
  • Family chat notifications arrived twice — and for your own messages — fixed.
  • The "More" menu sometimes showed only two entries — fixed.
  • Editing a recipe: changed servings weren't reflected in the overview immediately — fixed.
  • Editing a recipe: ingredients and the first cooking step ran into each other — fixed.
  • Recipe search: results appeared in the middle of the screen instead of at the top — fixed.
  • Adding a recipe to the meal plan didn't refresh the view immediately — fixed.
  • In the ingredients tab, already-added items were incorrectly ticked — fixed. There is now a button to remove them instead of a label.
  • When removing household members, the delete icon was visible for one member only — fixed. The household owner is now also marked in the list.
  • In routines, an edited step description wasn't saved — fixed.
  • Feedback sent from the app is now stored reliably and reaches us.
You don't need to install any of this yourself — the web updates automatically, and the app gets the update via the store or TestFlight.
