The reliability update: tasks that are right on every device

The tasks home screen has been rebuilt from the ground up: whatever you complete on one device now reliably disappears on all others, the order stays put, and everything works offline. Plus: recipes are now saved exclusively via cookbooks, ingredients are entered once per recipe, and tasks send a push when they come due.

Tasks home: dependable on every device

The “Today” view now reads straight from your device's local storage. That fixes three annoyances at once: tasks completed on another device no longer linger, the order no longer jumps when navigating back and forth, and duplicate rows are gone. Offline, the page shows your full data instead of an error.

Android: task details respond again

On Android, the task detail page sometimes stopped responding to any input — neither fields nor the back arrow. The cause has been found and fixed, and an automated test now guards against regressions.

Saving recipes now means: cookbooks

The heart on recipes and the “Saved” filter are gone — cookbooks are the one clear way to collect recipes. Your previous favorites live in the “Favoriten” cookbook, so nothing is lost. The recipe list filter now shows your cookbooks directly.

Ingredients belong to the recipe

When creating or editing, you now enter the ingredient list once at the top of the recipe — the individual steps simply pick from it. No more double typing, and amounts scale cleanly with servings (including rounding up for countable ingredients like “1 onion”).

A push when a task comes due

Tasks with a due date now speak up on their own — as a push on your phone, right when they're due.

Organize tasks more flexibly

Tasks can be moved to a different list after the fact (web and app), “No list” is now a real catch-all with a selectable default list, and assigning to family members or contacts happens in one place.

Recipe straight to the shopping list

A recipe's ingredients can now go straight to a shopping list of your choice — no meal plan needed, scaled to your servings, pantry items skipped automatically.

Also fixed & improved

  • Importing a recipe via link carries over your active filters as a suggestion — after confirmation.
  • The plan sheet picks up the servings set on the recipe.
  • Calendar: when connecting an account you can choose who events are auto-assigned to; accounts with expired access now ask specifically to reconnect.
  • Calendar: the last event card was hidden under the tab bar.
  • The recipe list no longer discards its results on every search.
  • Routine steps can carry a description and image — both show up in the daily view too.
  • The success note after “recipe to list” no longer looks like a button.
  • Rapid double-submit when creating a task is guarded.
You don't need to install any of this yourself — the web updates automatically, and the app gets the update via the store or TestFlight.
